Ace and Rich on Super Affiliate Success and Five Figure Months
Ace and Rich just hit 5 figure months with their blog. Here is our interview on SEO, Super Affiliate, and the blogging dream.
It has been over a year since I spotlighted you guys in my article the Top 35 MLM Bloggers. You have had some huge milestones and breakthroughs this year, so let’s get right to it.
How old is your blog, how many posts do you have, and do you still blog daily and doing MLM company reviews?
Our blog has been around since 2011 and we have 294 blog posts to date.
When we first started we were blogging daily and then we initiated a blogging challenge to blog twice a day but now we blog once or twice per week because we are more selective about the type of content we write about.
It’s about quality content not quantity, and yes we still write about MLM reviews.
How is the traffic to your blog and when did you see a spike in traffic, like what year into blogging was it?
Right now we are ranking in Alexa at 73,467. We spiked in traffic over 35,000 May of this year 2016 and then it kept going up from there to over 130,000.
What offers do you promote on your blog? I understand that you’ve had huge success recently with Super Affiliate, is that your primary business now?
We promote a free lead generation report and we also are promoting a new report that we created called, The 7 Crucial Steps You Must Do To Make $100,000 Online, From Scratch In The Next 12 Months.
Yes, we are the all time #1 top income earners in The Super Affiliate Network which is a top 2 tier affiliate marketing business model that is great for anyone who is looking to finally build a successful business on the internet.
We started marketing March 16, 2016 with The Super Affiliate Network and within 7 months we made $72,020.80.
We have an incredible team spread out around the globe and just recently in August we flew out to Maui, Hawaii to meet some of our Maui team members and get 1 on 1 private coaching with Misha Wilson.
If someone is new to MLM and wants to do everything through blogging, what would you tell them?
Our best advice is not to rely on blogging because it’s really a long term strategy.
It’s important to have a short term strategy where you have a marketing budget set aside for paid advertising for example native advertising where you can promote your blog posts.
As a new network marketer you want to learn to brand yourself and not your company. Your blog is going to be about you and your “core values” what you stand for.
I watched you on Norbert’s podcast recently and loved it. You guys look really happy. When did you start having 5-figure months with your blog?
Last year late 2015 we started getting sales automatically through our blog.
What’s the fastest way to get a blog making money?
First you have to make sure that you know your niche market really well and you probably want to pay for some advertising “Native Advertising”.
At the same time you want to make sure that you’re picking out relevant keywords to your niche and producing content that is relevant to that niche so that you can become the authority in your marketplace.
The other thing I like to add is make sure you have a high converting offer that you can affiliate yourself with something that will give value to your potential buyers.
You also were in pre-launch with your own product. Has that been launched and if so, who is it for and where can I get it?
Currently right now we are still working on it and it’s not ready yet, there is a lot of work that goes into creating your first online digital product.
Rich and I are working on a blogging course that is very basic and simple for new network marketers to learn from who are interested in starting a personal branded blog so they can market themselves.
Once it is ready we will update you and everyone for sure.
How has this recent surge of success impacted your lifestyle and can you tell us one specific time when you guys were desperately poor and struggling and what kept you going?
Wow! it actually has changed our lives dramatically because we used to work our jobs full-time and Rich used to come home late at night sometimes 11pm.
For me I used to come home from work too sore to stand up and just would want to knap throughout the day from working tirelessly physical work as a Staples sales associate.
There were times where I would be home wondering if this is all there is to my life and when is it going to get any better.
Right around the time we earned our first $18,000 commission which is the highest monthly commission we ever earned we discussed some changes to our work schedule.
I put in my 2 weeks notice August 15th and wrote it in pen on the Staples notepad during my 15 minute lunch break and handed it in to my boss.
They really were shocked why I wanted to quit and so I told my boss that this place is costing me more money to stay when I could be home full-time making more money.
Then I showed my boss my cellphone and pulled up my commissions and his eyes widen with interest and said to me well you’re definitely going to be missed but you’re doing great for yourself as an entrepreneur so best to you.
As for Rich he decided to change his work schedule from full-time double shifts to working part-time only 3 days per week Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and pretty soon he is going to reduce that down to 2 days a week till he quits his job.
Before we didn’t have high commissions of more than $11,000 in 3 years with our previous company which realized it just wasn’t the right business model for us so we resigned from there.
The fact is now we can travel as a family to really beautiful places that people only wish and dream about visiting.
We finally understand how to really grow a business now and the future for us looks really bright and on top of that all the people we are helping their getting similar results now too.
This is the kind of lifestyle we always wanted to live because our core values is education through inspiration because we always continued to be inspired even during the darkest moments in our life.
Can you tell us one specific time when you guys were desperately poor and struggling and what kept you going?
The time we were desperately poor and struggling was 2013 we were living with a friend who turned out to be a bad landlord which resulted in us getting Rich’s Macbook Pro stolen and having to move into a Motel 6 right down the street from Rich’s job.
All we cared about during that difficult time was that the Motel 6 had WiFi and we kept putting content out there because we knew that we didn’t have much money but our focus was blogging every single day sometimes twice a day because we knew down the road that compound effect would kick in one day.
This was our best strategy to rely on because we didn’t have a marketing budget and when times were tough we never lost hope, we always had belief and a desire to focus on results.
Once thing that Rich always said if you focus on results then you will get paid and that kept us very clear on the path to success.
Ace, you’re the writer, and Rich is the SEO guy. Do you guys ever switch roles and Rich writes for once? 🙂
Not really because what Rich does is when he has an idea he will tell me and I just put it into words for a blog post.
I do write all the reviews and do all the on page SEO myself but Rich handles the SEO portion that is more technical with Google.
There are a few blog posts that is authored by Rich but I am the one that wrote it as if I were him so I have a skill where I can write as a second person writer LOL!
This is a SEO question for Rich. What’s the most powerful SEO tactic that you use on a blog post? Is it H3’s, meta description, alt tags, etc?
I would say that Ace has her own formula writing blog posts with SEO where she leverages the plugin called Yoast SEO for WordPress.
She uses the SEO plugin and she makes sure that she keeps her keyword density no more than 3% and we definitely use alt tags.
More importantly we always do our keyword research first before publishing any content because what we are doing is looking at the related keywords that Google is providing.
This one strategy alone is what helps us get 4X that much traffic to our blog.
What are your goals for 2022?
Our goals for 2022 is we definitely want to have our own blogging product finished and we want to definitely double our revenue and increase our advertising budget double where it is today.
We also have plans to go back to Maui, Hawaii for the 2nd time with our team and we’re going to be having our blog professional done and rebranded with a total new look.
Also we are taking private clients who want to be coached on Solo Ad Marketing who are not on our team or in our company. At this rate we have been growing our business we see a projection of revenue over $300K in 2017.
What’s your favorite business quote, and why?
Rich came up with his own quote actually and this one inspired me:
“You are simply the architect of your existence. Life is your playground. Learn to play the game and don’t go to your grave safely”
This quote resonates with me because all my life I have been playing it safe and where has that gotten me nowhere.
I was afraid to take a risk, afraid something bad might happen, afraid of failure and I just am tired of living in fear of success.
All I need is to know the rules of the game of life and how to play them so I can really live a life of fulfillment and never be satisfied.
I feel hungry all the time like a lion who needs to eat and feed their young, I strive to keep building my business with this mindset and focus.
Wow! This has been an awesome interview! You guys have it dialed in. I’m so glad you took the time to do this for me, the readers here, and for everyone else that needs internet marketing tips and techniques.
