Jessica Lauren Vine on Instagram Marketing and Queen of Connections
Jessica Lauren Vine is a successful internet marketer who got the Entrepreneurial bug at the age of 12. Here is our exclusive interview with her.
Wow! Thank you so much for this interview, Jessica. You have a very interesting story that my readers will love. So, let’s get started!
You discovered internet marketing basically from a newspaper ad when you were twelve. Can you tell us what that was and how did you create your own business out of that?
Actually Erik, I’m pretty sure it was an online ad of some sort that took me down a rabbit trail and I ended up in some chat room where you could get “paid to chat” lol… You would be in there chatting and every little bit an ad would go buy. You would get like .003 of a cent for each ad that went through. hahhaha!
Then I moved up (lol) To quizzes for cash and paid to read emails. I remember being so proud to get my mom a stained glass looking decoration to put on her countertop. It is still in her house actually. 🙂
As far as creating my own business from that, I saw these paid email companies business model so I made JeSsIcA LaUrEn Emails and started selling my own ads.
It was some kind of out of the box system I used to set it up but still not bad for 12. lol Then I got an offer on it and made a small fortune.
Just kidding, but to me it felt like a lot. It was maybe 500? I believe. lol Then I just kept going from one thing to another and leveling up every time to something better and more profitable.
You got married young and your husband immediately went to the war in Iraq. What kind of emotions were you going through? You even were a new mom at that time, right?
When I married my current husband almost 10 years ago, I was a single mom, divorced. My son was 3 when we got married and when my husband went off to war, we had another son who was 6 months old.
Truthfully, I was angry, disappointed and frustrated most of the time. I went through some pretty serious depression.
At this time I was all about becoming a top model. lol… I say that I have went through so many phases but hey… all of them called for internet marketing. 😛 That is one skill that is super transferable!
~
When you turned 25, you retired yourself and your husband from the tedious job scene. How did you retire, what was that process like, and how long did it take to get home full-time?
I had gone through various learning experiences and had been working for 3 years to ‘figure out’ affiliate marketing, traffic generation, sem, seo and all of that good stuff.
Bought course after course… after course. 😛 Lots and lots of courses!!! I wanted to quit about 1 zillion times and I can still remember the time that I made my 1st penny on adsense. I was so pissed off!!! All of that work and I made a friggin penny. For serious??? lol 😛
A few months before my 3rd baby was born I decided that I wanted to be able to have total freedom of choice so I put a game plan together and got to work.
Said game plan was… make enough money writing articles for other marketers so that I can invest $$ into the tools I needed to build my internet empire. So, by the time that I was having baby #3 (like literally in labor) I was having commissions received emails flowing in and I’m pretty sure that was the coolest thing ever. hahah
It is all a matter of finding something that works for you and then doing it over and over again like gangbusters!
~
Was there any hardships in the beginning? I mean, was there a time you were living paycheck to paycheck, not knowing what you were going to do next?
Oh God yes. It was horrible. Like so bad. I remember when Joe got back from Iraq, he could not get a job for anything.
Apparently serving the country is not a good thing to put on your resume. I was still in the stage where I was working to learn affiliate marketing and not really making anything off that.
I was making a little bit of money off writing articles for other affiliate marketers but not much at all. We were basically living off of about $300 a week.
This was another point in my life where I was very depressed and frustrated but I kept going anyway because I knew I did not want to stay in that situation. I knew I deserved more.
I love your blog! How old is it, how many posts are on it, and what is the traffic like to it each day?
Aww… Thank you so much!! =D My first post that I put on it was on Oct 21st 2012. WOW!! 4 years old already?? lol There are 142 posts on the blog.
If you go back to some of the older stuff that I posted on there, you can really see where I have been finding my way and seeing what message I want to convey to the world!
Right now I get about 100 unique hits per day to the blog. I have just started to blog a minimum of 6 times per week and sometimes every day because I know myself, if I don’t then I just might fall off the face of the blogosphere. hahah…
I have to say that I’ve had people that are “traditional” mlmers warn me again blogging and how it doesn’t duplicate and stuff like that.
One of the things I would change if I could go back is not listening to those people. It is always important to go with your gut and not let anyone steer you away from that feeling, no matter who they are.
So, my goal is to get to 1,000 visitors per day and be able to impact more lives by January 31st which would have been my mom’s 67 birthday.
~
How do you generate leads with it?
As far as generating leads, the people that I want to serve are people just like me. People that will not live under someone else’s thumb. People that have families that they want to spend time with.
People that have dreams so big that most people think they are nutsy coo coo (hahah) So, I give value to those people through success hacks and my ebook Blogger Money whenever they opt in.
I have created 2 different blogs with 1,000 to 1,500 visitors per day so I know what I am doing and being able to help people in this area is where I find my most enjoyment.
I just want to create amazing relationships with people and if they need or want something I have then they will get it. Serve enough people and the money comes. You just can’t hide from it.
I notice you do a lot of video marketing. How has that helped your brand overall, and who should shoot video and what are the benefits?
I love video marketing. There are a few different reasons why but the biggest one is because I do stay home a lot with my 4 kiddos and getting on live allows me to talk to all of my friends from all over the world.
It allows me to feel super connected. As far as helping my brand overall, I believe people just see the raw me and can love me or hate me. At least no one is on the fence. We ALL do business with those that we know, like and trust so video allows us to really show who we are!
Anyone that wants to create know, like and trust with their market should be doing video. I know it can be scary in the beginning but if you can lump it the first few weeks, you will get addicted.

What is your favorite social media platform right now and how do you get Leads with that?
Oh wow… sooo hard to say!! I use linkedin, twitter, facebook and instagram pretty much evenly. Each of them for a different purpose.
Linkedin, I am pretty much straight to the point and creating solid relationships with high caliber people. Twitter is where there are few rules and I just jump into the conversations to see who I meet.
Facebook is where I interact with my current tribe the most and instagram is a great place to find more of your ideal client. ALL of them go back to my website though. It’s like they say – your blog is your hub!

You’re dubbed “the Queen of Connections.” How did you get that name and have you always been an extrovert?
Hahah.. I dubbed myself the queen of connections but my friends agree. 😛 I got that name because I love connecting people.
I always want to see who I can help find someone that they want to meet. It has always rewarded me well because people appreciate that and since that is true, I just keep doing it. lol Remember, rewarded behavior is repeated. 😉
As far as being an extrovert, I really don’t think I am at all. I still get nervous in a room of people that I don’t know and when I was a teen, I actually got hives because I was so terrified of being in a group of people.
I think it is more that I know what I want, I know who I have to be to get it and if I am going to be doing it then I choose to love it!!!
~
Can introverts succeed in MLM?
Yes, introverts can succeed in MLM. Now with the internet there are plenty of systems that take out a lot of the stuff that used to have to happen.
Heck, go out there and find a bunch of other introverts that don’t want to talk on the phone or video chat and just want to make money and you’re golden… lol
~
What’s your favorite book right now and why?
Hmmm… I am really enjoying the Cashflow Quadrant right now by Robert Kiyosaki.
Why? Because financial education is key. What good is making a bunch of money if you have to send it all off to the government or a bunch of life sucking liabilities?
~
What are your goals for 2023?
My goals for 2023 are to kick all excuses to the curb and live the life of my dreams.
No letting fears stop me (like fear of flying) or worrying about what other people think. As far as with business, my goal is to have 3 6-figure income streams.
Why 3 revenue streams?
Because I have been at the mercy of just 1 income stream before and it is NOT fun when that puppy dries up without warning. Be smart ya’ll with your entrepreneurial ventures.

What is your favorite quote and why?
The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age. – Lucille Ball
This is my favorite quote because I grew up watching Lucy and I so love her. lol I’m a stickler for honesty and all of my friend tease me about eating slow. The lie about your age thing is kind of funny because she just said to live honestly. It is good times!
Thank you so much for this powerful interview Jessica! This has been an awesome and insightful interview.
