Steve Krivda on MLSP Leadership, Inspiration, and MLM Tips

Steve Krivda was overweight and stressed out when he discovered a solution through network marketing. Here is our powerful interview.

Thank you so much for doing this interview with me, Steve! Your blog is full of inspiration, success tips, and motivation for the Entrepreneur. I want to know more about you, so let’s get started!

You live in Florida, but you are originally from New Jersey. What was your childhood like, what did you want to be when you grew up, and what did your parents do for a living?

Growing up in New Jersey was pretty cool. I was blessed to live in a small town that to this day, has a population of just over 13,000 people.

My parents were always there for me, in different ways. Dad worked a lot at the Car Lot he owned. But he was home, he was pretty involved with my brother and I.

My mom was the caregiver. She kept our home together and was always there to talk to…about anything. There was no subject too deep, sensitive or risky for mom. She was the best!

As I grew up, I always wanted to be a policeman…sticking up for the little guy. It probably stemmed from being picked on when I was younger.

When did you realize you had an Entrepreneur inside of you?

I remember growing up around the little league fields and purchasing Penny Gum and Penny Fish. One day I brought the remainder of my stash to school to snack on and was offered a nickel for a piece of gum.

And that’s about how it began. I was always buying something and selling it, which resulted in me always having cash on me. Once you get that taste, it’s difficult to release.

When did you discover network marketing and how were the first couple of years?

Back in 2006, I was brought into network marketing by a buddy of mine. My wife and I thought it was a great way to hang with our married friends.

We did okay for a while, growing one person at a time. We grew from what we called, ignorance on fire. Honestly, I was terrible. I said all the wrong things to the right people. That only lasted so long and eventually, I crashed. That crashed lasted for years LOL.

  ~

What was the biggest struggle for you during this period and what was the most valuable lesson from it?

My biggest struggle was thinking that I knew it all.  I had an EGO the size of New York City and had learned a very hard lesson, that I didn’t know anything. So, I became a student of people.

You’re a Blackbelt in Karate? How has karate helped your network marketing business?

Wow, I remember that day like it was yesterday. I took a beaten that day. Karate was a great time in my life. Being overweight and told by doctors that I would never be an athlete was a crutch I used until the day I walked in the school and onto the mat.

I had excuses that my instructor wouldn’t believe or take. He taught me, that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.

The day I earned my Blackbelt, I was pushed to my limit. They pounded the snot out of me but I kept getting up. As my body was telling me to give up, my heart told me that I had lots more to inside.

When you know that you can go through 30 minutes of fresh fighters, minute after minute, you realize that the only person that can beat you…is you.

This philosophy has kept me going, in network marketing, during the times I wanted to throw in the towel. You can win, as long as you keep fighting and never give up.

What is the biggest obstacles for new network marketers and what do you tell them to do to overcome them?

I feel the biggest obstacle for new network marketers would be lack of understanding and education. That’s where I fell down in the beginning for my team, as well as for myself.

We’re not all built the same however, we can all follow some basic information. Learning how to invite people to see the presentation, how to present and how to ask for the close.

And The Big One: Understanding Rejection.

With those simple skills, you can build any network marketing company.

I love your blog! It has a lot of inspiration, motivation and valuable training for network marketers. How old is it, how many posts are on it, and what is the daily traffic like to it?

Thank you. My first blog post was June 04, 2011 with 728 posts. I may get 150-200 visits a day, depending on if I post, where I post and sending it out to my list.

That blog has gone through some stuff. It was ugly in the beginning. I has flashy banners everywhere, ads all over and branded everyone else by me. It has evolved into the simplistic site you see today. I like simplicity.

What is “Monday morning Mindset” about and can you tell us a little about it?

Monday Morning Mindset started just over 2 years ago, June 2014, as a weekly call to get myself out there in the public more. Mondays are difficult for most people and it typically starts on Sunday night as we are winding up for the week.

It’s no different since I left my 9-5 grind. I sit here at home, while Danielle goes to work and the boys go to school.

The MMM came about to provide hope that all situations are temporary. That anything is possible if you keep going, find out what you need to learn and who you need to become.

Each weekly topic, is typically from a situation I’ve been through or someone I know is going through. I do my best to bring about a real life example, so it’s not just another fluffy call.

If someone wanted to start a MLM blog to generate Leads, what would you tell them?

Be prepared for the journey. Anyone looking to generate leads with an MLM Blog, should understand that it’s going to take work. It’s typically not a quick 7-14 lead generation strategy. It’s like going to the gym, you have to keep showing up.

There are Three things about blogging. First is to be sure you are creating relevant content to your niche. Second is to optimize your site and articles so people will see it. Third is to be consistent. Consistency trains your audience as to what to expect from you. Consistency earns you respect from your peers.

What is the best way to get free leads these days?

Free is a relevant term. Free typically, will require more time on your part. However, in my opinion, social media platforms are where you’ll find the most results.

By consistently putting out valuable content on the platform of your choice, you’ll start to gain a following. Once you gain a following, two things will happen. Your audience will seek you out as the authority and want to work with you.

Second, as you actively prospect you fall back on your own authority. Best way to get free leads…Become a valuable person on the Social Media Platform of your choice.

I notice that you’re one of the key trainers at MLSP (My Lead System Pro) When did you discover MLSP, who is it for, and how did you achieve the status of key trainer with them?

A friend of mine approached me about My Lead System Pro about 4 years ago, about a year after I started blogging. I honestly had no idea what it was, I just knew people were excited about it and wanted to buy it… So, I sold it.

One day, my wife asked what the charge was on the credit card, I told her and then she said “You should learn how to use this”.

I had only used it to educate myself on what to do and how to market on the internet. Up until that point, I hadn’t implemented anything.

Once I found the power in MLSP, things changed, everything changed. I began to receive notoriety, my income increased and I became the hunted instead of the hunter.

MLSP is for anyone looking to brand themselves out and above the sea of network marketers. To gain a knowledge of True Internet Marketing. It doesn’t matter your business, MLSP will teach you how to generate leads for any business, MLM or not.

How I became a trainer? Honestly, I had been coaching for quite some time and when the new coaching platform became public, I raised my hand. My Lead System Pro has been so good to me and it was now time for me to give back.

Being someone that has been volunteering my services for a couple of years and being the veteran inside MLSP, I guess it made sense LOL.

What is your favorite social media platform right now and why?

Lately, I’ve been using Instagram to generate leads. It’s a pretty simple platform to use. There are over 500,000 users on Instagram right now divided into four sorts. Regular users for social media, spammers, new business builders and a very small percentage that are providing value to support the new business builder. Leading with integrity and authenticity makes it a simple platform to stand out and serve others.

What is your favorite book right now and why?

As of now, I’m into “Outwitting The Devil” by Napoleon Hill for the third time.

If you’ve read this, you understand the battle in your head can be beat with a simple thought process shift. I believe that the battle is real for everyone but few know how to overcome.

This book is about the battle of Fear and Faith and it comes down to a choice. Without the knowledge to discern the difference, it is very difficult fight. This book equips you with the tools to win.

~

What are your goals for 2023?

As of now, I have several goals. One big goal is to finish my certification inside the John Maxwell Coaching Program.

I have a mission to spread the Good News to as many I can while providing hope to all. Eventually create a multitude of coaches with me, all on the same mission. Hope.

~

What is your favorite quote and why?

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Why? Because it is some things, partial things or when convenient. It is ALL things.
